Ok, so on Thursday, April 19th, we are going to have some reps in town from Stone Brewing for a Special Edition Stone Brewing Brewer’s Night. Unlike our usual Brewer’s Nights that typically take place on the first Wednesday of each month, we will not have any tickets for sale. This event will be first come, first serve. We are going to feature 7 or 8 Stone beers including some vintage stuff! I will post the beer list here, once it is confirmed. Starting at 6pm(ish) the reps from Stone will be in house to talk about Stone and hand out some sweet swag to as well. Hope to see you here!!
Join us at 6pm on Tuesday, March 27th to taste Great Lakes Brewing’s newest seasonal, Wright Pils! This classically styled Pilsner will be released later this year.
Named after the brothers Wright who built the world’s first successful controlled airplane, this pilsner, like these local heroes, has all the Wright stuff! In early 2010, expect to see The Wright Pils in 6-packs in the GLBC Gift Shop, as well as on draft in Concourse C at Cleveland Hopkins Airport! TYPE/STYLE: Pilsner. Until the 1840s, most Bohemian (now Czech Republic) beers were top-fermented, dark and cloudy, although Bavarian brewers had begun experimenting through “lagering” beer in cool caves using bottom-fermenting yeasts, which improved the beer’s clarity, flavor, and shelf-life. The Burgess Brewery recruited the Bavarian brewer Josef Groll who, using new techniques and the newly available paler malts, created the first batch of modern pilsener on October 5, 1842. The combination of pale color from the new malts (aided by the Bohemian city of Plzen’s remarkably soft water), noble hops and Bavarian-style lagering produced a clear, golden beer which caused a sensation. Improving transport and communications also meant that this new beer was quickly available throughout Central Europe, and its style was soon widely imitated. Crunchy’s annual Bell’s Brewer’s DAY and Oberon release party will start at 2pm with a tapping of Bell’s Black Note, an extremely rare offering from Bell’s. Black Note will only be available from 2pm – 8pm on Sunday, March 25th. We will also be featuring 15 other Bell’s beers available all day and night, including a midnight tapping of Bell’s Oberon. Laura Bell will be hosting the party, and will be giving away tons of t-shirt’s and other swag. At midnight we will be crowning an Oberon King and Queen, who will be the first two people in the whole state to enjoy an Oberon!
This event is first come, first serve. We will not be offering pre-sale tickets.
